Senior Engineering Project Manager - Freedom Space
Position Description
Freedom Space is looking for a Senior Engineering Project Manager. This is a
senior engineering position to lead projects in the new Defense subsidiary of ATLAS Space Operations. This is a career-building opportunity to interact on a daily basis with the ATLAS engineering, software development, and operations teams, the senior corporate management, and our DoD customers.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) required
Experience
- Minimum 20 years of experience in the Department of Defense (DoD) (Military, Civil, Contractor)
- Advanced knowledge of Systems Engineering
- Planning, development, coordination, submission, and execution of a project from cradle to grave including:
- Design Requirements
- Test and Evaluation
- Procurement
- Production
- Logistics
- Documentation
- Schedule
- Proven leadership ability
- Ability to identify technical solutions and new product concepts to address customer needs and meet business objectives
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Security Clearance
Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility required
Preferred Qualifications
Education
Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Systems Engineering, or Program Management
Experience
- Space Systems
- SATCOM
- Antenna and Ground Station Operations
- Phased Array Antennas
- Software Development (Agile and Waterfall)
- Hardware Development and Engineering
- Program / Project Management
- Ability to plan and manage complete Systems Engineering life-cycle processes and sub-processes
- Requirements Development, Documentation, and Validation
- Development of Engineering Drawing, Parts Lists, and Technical Documents
- Ability to support Business Development efforts
- Interpersonal Skills to interact with customers, senior management, peers, and subordinates
